Marlene Mallory           Your path to fun and fitness

Dance your way to health!   There are so many reasons why dancing is good for you. It's great fun, good for the body and mind, plus it's a great way to meet people.

Here are 10 reasons to dance:

  • Great way to exercise and stay fit.  If you don't like 'working out' at the gym, dancing can bring the fun back into exercise.

  • Burn calories and lose weight.  Dancing is all about moving your body and moving your body is all about burning the calories. You can burn anywhere from 250-400 calories per hour, depending on the style of dance.  Dance your way to slim and fit.

  • Improved health.  Dancing can effectively promote good health by improving cardiovascular fitness, strengthening the muscles, increasing circulation, decreasing blood pressure, lowering the risk of coronary heart disease, reducing stress and so much more.

  • Greater Coordination. Dancing helps to improve control over your body movements, timing, and coordination skills. You will learn how to move with grace and poise, with better balance and improved posture.

  • Good for the bones and joints.  Dancing is a weight-bearing activity, helping to increase bone density and helping to reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

  • Builds confidence. Dancing builds self-confidence and self-esteem through the mastery of all the components of each dance sequence.

  • Great way to meet people. Dancing is a natural icebreaker, opening up the opportunity to meet and make new friends.

  • Lifts your mood.  Dancing as exercise can raise your spirits by raising the endorphins, which lightens your mood and reduces the risk of depression.

  • Good for the mind.  Dancing keeps your mind active by improving circulation to the brain and stimulating memory to retain the step sequence.

  • Improved overall well-being.  Dancing promotes feelings of health and well-being.

Let Marlene, Wedding Dance Coordinator and Professional Instructor, teach you the basic steps for every social occasion.

"Marlene is a wonderful dance instructor.  We take her group Ballroom and Latin Friday night dance classes and love being able to learn two dances in each hour-long session.  She teaches to each student’s level with warmth and humor, putting everyone at ease.  Whether you are an absolute Ballroom/Latin beginner, or if you have not danced in awhile and want a refresher course, you will (re)discover the joy of Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Swing, Salsa, Rumba and Samba  in her class.  We keep coming back to learn more because we love Marlene!"  Jim and Diana Ward
